On these nice January and February mornings I like to walk the Waterfront
and Canal Road
area of the Freeport.
The break of the waves, the cawing of the crows and the chirping of the geckos
makes it a tranquil setting conducive to thought and meditation.
Recently however the obnoxious SBFZ taxi drivers have been shattering the
tranquility by yelling "Hey you, do you want a ride?" Or beeping
their horns which apparently is supposed to convey the same question. Between
Pier One and Gerry's Grill this occurred five times today. It only
escalated at the ships loading dock and in the Traders/Meat
Plus vicinity.
Also in the act are the Muslim vendors hawking beads and trinkets, fake old
coins and not so fake endangered shells. Fortunately they are on foot or
bicycle and so not quite as annoying.
I used to wonder why people would pay 10 pesos to walk in circles around Remy
Field. I now realize you are not paying for the track but for the fence that
keeps the knuckleheads out.

Cool it on the profanity. Like Sinatra said, "You don't need to work blue. You'll never play the big houses with that crap."
