It takes more than slogans

It is mildly amusing that the Department of Tourism (DOT) has decided to change their tourism slogan. Somehow it’s hard to imagine that going from ‘Wow Philippines’ to ‘More fun in the Philippines’ will result in one more tourist arrivals. Things like clean airport restrooms and ease of tourist visa renewals result in more tourists. Taxi drivers using their meters and money changers giving proper exchange rates result in more tourists. Slogans are just new wrapping paper on recycled, unwanted gifts. If we were less polite, we would say, perfume on a pig.

What do you think of the new tourism slogan?

Cool it on the profanity. Like Sinatra said, "You don't need to work blue. You'll never play the big houses with that crap."
