From a reader: Medical costs in P.I. are extremely cheap and nothing when
compared to Japan. I'm USNR and have to pay up front when I get medical care in
Japan then file a claim with Tricare to be reimbursed. I would give anything to
pay the low cost of medical care that you guys get charged down there. Try
footing the bill here then you will have something to talk about. It's not
cheap, especially with the yen to dollar rate being what it is, but it's one of
the snags I have to put up with for choosing to live here. Plan ahead guys. As
you get older you visit the doctor a little more, especially if your not living
a healthy life style.
