Rainy season is unusually late. Except for routine day and night time showers there has been little rainfall in May, June or July. This could change anytime. In the past 20 years there have been three horrific Olongapo area floods. Specifically Santa Monica and the valley around it had serious flooding in May and August of 1997 and again in August of 2012. Tides play a significant role in the flooding problem. Very high tides block the rivers and streams from draining into the ocean. High tides combined with heavy rainfall make flooding more likely. We just checked tide charts for Manila/Subic for the rest of July, August and September. We used one meter as the measure of concern.
