Maguindanao massacre was caused in part by poor gun control in Mindanao

Comment from a reader on the post: The Philippines is aPathetic Cesspool

There are murders every day in the Philippines? What an idiotic comment. This is a country of 90 million people. When you have 90 million people, some of them murder each other. You toss around a lot of BS stats in your comment. Who says the Philippines has more guns per capita than the United States? Other than the Maguindanao massacre, which was a political killing (driven in large part by the lack of effective gun control in Mindanao), when was the last time we had a mass school killing in the Philippines. In the United States, we let heavily armed killers open fire on our children a couple of times a year. It’s routine now. The Philippines doesn’t do that. Take a look in your own backyard before you piss on other countries.
